Next we are going to research those strengths to identify their
relevance in your locality. We will carefully research your
local job market to determine how sought after your current
strengths really are.
What if employers in your area do not regard your current
skills as highly important? What will be our strategy? Identify-
ing a game plan is important to how we will devise your re-
sume, and further, how your resume will be marketed.
Are there industries in your area that will
view your newly identifed strengths as
assets? When a company such as Wal-
Mart or McDonald’s investigates build-
ing a location in a new area, years of
planning and thousands of dollars are
spent on market research prior to a deci-
sion to build. Careful planning ensures
the right demographics support the new
location, increasing the likelihood of suc-
cess when the new location is built. Similarly, researching the
employment market in your area ensures that when your re-
sume is built, it contains the right information and is forward-
ed to the right employers, increasing the response rate.
