When Thomas Edison stressed over an invention, he would
take a nap. “Some of my best ideas come to me after my af-
ternoon naps”
From the notes & journals of Thomas Alva Edison
Neil Armstrong who was the frst person to set foot on the
moon was chosen by NASA to make this historic trip not
because he was the most talented astronaut at NASA, but the
one who could best remain totally calm under pressure.
Here is a strategy that helps you relax during the phone in-
terview. Ask yourself: “What is the worst that can happen?”
and be ok with the worst. If you don’t get the position, it is
because there is a better one planned for you in the future.
It always works out that way. So if the worst is that this job
will go to someone else, remind yourself that something
even better is right around the corner.
Always reach for the moon, exercise excellence, improve
yourself and be the best at what you do. Do your best and if
despite your efforts, you still fall short, learn to accept that
the time has not come yet.
It will.
Look back throughout history and every great achievement
initially met with temporary defeat. Henry Ford endured two
bankruptcies before hitting it big. Oprah Winfrey was told
by a TV station manager she will never work again. This is
before she was fred. Michael Jordan failed to make his var-
sity basketball team twice.
