position, it is necessary to extract information from the job description and
create a unique
Phone Interview Profle
. Use this profle to best tailor your
responses during the phone interview.
What is the Phone Interview Profle (P.I.P)?
The Phone Interview Profle is a half a page
document you create about the employer, your
skills (when compared to the job description and
position requirements) and research conducted on
the company.
This information can be created either after you
apply for the position, or when the phone inter-
view is scheduled. Having this information is
essential to your success when speaking to the
hiring manager.
The profle will answer the following questions:
1. What are the key skills needed for this position as outlined in the job de-
scription?
2. What type of pains (problems) is the company currently experiencing that
flling this position will alleviate?
